How do homeopathic medicines work? |

Homeopathic medicines act by stimulating the body's own defense mechanism to correct the process that has lead to the condition. According to our current understanding, the medicines act as an electromagnetic signal, which is picked up by nerves and relayed to higher centers of the brain, which in turn stimulates our bodies healing powers to take specific corrective measures. The medicines tell the body what to do - the actual work is done by the body itself.

Can you explain how the different strengths work? |
|
Homeopathy makes substances into healing remedies by dilution and succussion (shaking vigorously). Dilution negates any problems with substances that may be harmful in their raw state. Succussion enhances the healing properties of the substances. The strength of the remedy is the number of times a remedy has been diluted and succussed. A 6 means it has been diluted and succussed 6 times; a 30 means 30 times. The higher the number, the stronger the remedy.

Can you explain how the different potencies work? |
|
The potency is shown after the remedy name as a roman numeral. The decimal “X” designation is the lowest potency. These potencies stay in the body a short period of time and can be used safely for repeat dosing. They are helpful for first aid treatment, trauma, recovery from injury and for preventative dosing. The centesimal “C” designation is a medium potency and is used for first aid, seasonal ailments and chronic health concerns. 30C is a very common potency in the United States. The millesimal “M” designation is the highest potency, and may stay working in the body for months. This potency is normally only given to individuals through a prescription from a practitioner.
